Dulles,
VA February 26, 2008 – Encore Networks
today announced that IsoTropic Networks
has selected its BANDIT™ family of VPN
routers for high-performance solutions
over satellite. As an Encore Value Added
Reseller, IsoTropic has completed installations
for a nationwide retail chain, railroad
terminals throughout the U.S., and military
applications.
IsoTropic Networks is a global solutions
based provider of VSAT satellite communications
systems. Currently operating on eight
satellites, IsoTropic can integrate satellite
and terrestrial technologies in a seamless
fashion, providing reliable communications
solutions over 95% of the world.
“We’ve selected Encore’s BANDIT because
of our recent successful installations
migrating legacy networks to secure,
site-to-site VSAT solutions”, stated
Lynn Salisbury, President of IsoTropics
Networks. “The rugged version of the
BANDIT is perfect for the harsh environmental
conditions we have encountered in many
of our transportation and military applications.”
Encore’s BANDIT-II™ and BANDIT-III™
are fully featured integrated routers
complete with firewall, terminal server,
serial-to-IP conversion, legacy-to-IP
conversion and VPN functionalities. They
are available in both commercial grade
and ‘ruggedized’ versions for use in
applications with limited environmental
controls. The Selective Layer Encryption
(SLE) feature in the BANDIT™ is an encryption
technology that securely connects satellite
networks with terrestrial Internet links
as part of an end-to-end VPN solution.
SLE optimizes key applications by overcoming
the unacceptable performance degradation
of IPSec based solutions and allows full
VSAT link speeds with VPN capabilities.
“We are pleased that IsoTropic has decided
to feature Encore’s BANDIT family as
a part of their VSAT solutions. They
have enjoyed great success in the enterprise
and government markets and truly add
value as a key reseller,” said Matthew
Girard, Encore Networks Director of Satellite
Market Development. “Their expertise
in selling, installing and maintaining
satellite networks, both large and small,
ensures our long standing relationship.” |
