Chantilly,
VA and Boonton Township, NJ – January
28, 2011 — In response to customer demand
for comprehensive next generation fiber
network solutions, Encore Networks and
RFL Electronics today announced a strategic,
co-branding agreement that will allow
RFL to private label Encore’s environmentally
and electrical immunity hardened routers.
RFL will install Encore’s
BANDIT-3™ ruggedized
routers under the RFL name to fully compliment
their eXmux 3500 fiber installations
of linear, star, ring and mesh network
solutions supporting today’s IP infrastructure
with TCP/IP and legacy voice and data
services.
RFL provides a wide range of communications
and relaying products, application support
and customized systems to Electric Utilities,
Oil and Gas markets, Railroads and Transportation
industries, Government agencies and engineering
consulting firms.
“For 85 years, RFL has dedicated its
resources to providing the best quality
products and services to meet the needs
of their customers,” stated Peter Madsen,
President and CEO of Encore Networks.
“I am pleased that RFL has included Encore
routers in their product portfolio as
they continue to focus on supplying rugged
communications solutions and protection
systems for power utilities and the transportation
marketplace.”
Encore’s BANDIT-3™ is an environmentally
and electrical immunity hardened router
providing Internet Protocol (IP), Virtual
Private Network (VPN), Layer-4 Firewall,
Ethernet Switching and Legacy Protocol
to IP interworking functionality. Ideally
suited for the harsh environments located
in sub-stations, gas and oil refineries,
and railroad wayside stations, the BANDIT-3™
ensures secure, high-throughput voice
and data networking connections directly
to fiber, cellular, VSAT or terrestrial
networks.
“It was very important for us to enter
this strategic relationship with Encore
Networks at this time,” said John Scholz,
Vice-President of Marketing for RFL.
“Their routers not only met our strict
technical criteria providing fiber connectivity
in the harshest of sub-station environments,
but also fulfilled our requirement that
all of our products meet the tenets of
the Buy America Act.” |
