Chantilly,
VA - April 13, 2011 - In response to
the need to preserve existing CPE using
embedded analog modems as the network
connection, while supporting advanced
IP applications over cellular transport
services, Encore Networks today announced
the BANDIT-2™ with Copper-to-Cellular
(C2C™). The C2C™ is a low-cost, embedded
replacement of POTS lines needed when
migrating to M2M applications.
Available in both an industrial, ruggedized
version and a mass market commercial
model, the C2C™ provides IP interworking
capabilities to an analog modem interface
in a single box solution. The C2C™ simply
connects a users existing analog modem
to 2G, 3G or 4G cellular networks. The
remote equipment continues to function
with no changes to Operations Administration
and Maintenance (OA&M) with the added
benefits of the cellular network's increased
data throughput, reliability, data security
utilizing IPsec (AES256, 3DES), and other
IP-based services and applications.
"Encore's C2C™ router enables customers
to eliminate their dependence on high
cost analog copper lines and move to
a lower cost, all IP wireless cellular
infrastructure," said Peter Madsen,
President of Encore Networks. "Customers
continue to use their existing M2M, Remote
Terminal Unit (RTU), meters, HVAC, and
other legacy devices while enjoying the
increased bandwidth capacity of a cellular
infrastructure supporting new IP-based
functionality."
The C2C™ works with a variety of host
site solutions including IP straight
to the server, or serial conversion via
a host solution like Encore's VSR-1200
- RDU™. Along with the embedded cellular
modem, the C2C™ has an RJ11 analog C.O.
modem port and an RJ45 Ethernet port.
The C2C™ also provides the ability to
simultaneously multicast to numerous
data centers providing users maximum
network reliability and security.
