Chantilly,
VA. May 1, 2012 — Encore Networks,
a leader in M2M solutions for fixed and
wireless communications, today announced
that Automated Financial, L.L.C. has
selected Encore’s C2C™ Machine-to-Machine
(M2M) router to participate in the growing
trend of migrating ATM payment processing
from Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS)
lines to more secure, cost-effective,
and reliable cellular services.
The C2C™ replaces POTS
lines with a secure cellular architecture
in a low impact footprint that makes
the C2C™ ideal for ATM and point-of-sale
applications which often face space constraints.
Available in both low-cost commercial
and rugged temperature hardened units,
the C2C™ operates on a wide range of
AC or DC power over public or private
cellular service.
“Among the many reasons
we chose the C2C was the simple, single-box
solution. The C2C provides IP router,
Layer-4 firewall, SSL, and IPsec VPN
functionality with its embedded radio
modem,” stated Steve Allard, President
of Automated Financial. “Encore’s ability
to interwork between systems minimizes
reconfigurations. Our Triton Connect
management system that currently provides
connectivity to card processors over
POTS lines is already IP enabled so no
reconfiguration of the ATM is needed.”
Mr. Allard continued, “We
also liked the C2C’s support of IPsec.
This form of connection persists over
time, unlike SSL which requires frequent
connection requests on the TCP/IP protocol.
A constant connection is important in
high traffic areas such as stadiums during
professional sports events or concerts
because it minimizes transaction time
by eliminating connection delays and
avoids getting ‘locked out’ by other
devices.”
Founded in 1996, Automated
Financial’s portfolio consists of ATM
sites throughout the United States. As
a top ranking distributor for ATM sales
and service, Automated’s nationwide network
provides a wide variety of ATM makes
and models from manufacturers including
Triton, Nautilus Hyosung, Genmega, and
Hantle.
“With Automated’s experience
and understanding of the unique characteristics
and requirements for conducting transactions
from remote locations, it’s hardly surprising
that they are leading the charge in POTS
to cellular conversion,” said Jeff Boger,
Sales Director for Encore Networks. “They
understand that we all need to face that
fact that copper lines are going away
and the sooner ATM customers convert
to low cost, reliable cellular services
the better.”
