Dulles, VA October 9, 2007 –In response to customer need for advanced cyber security solutions that perform reliably under harsh environmental conditions and also provide advanced networking features expected in corporate offices, Encore Networks today announced the BANDIT-II™, a rugged IP+Legacy router with high-speed, low-latency EVDO capabilities.

As a more compact version of the previously announced BANDIT-III™, Encore’s environmentally hardened router designed for SCADA and other rugged network environments; the BANDIT-II™ is a fully featured integrated router complete with firewall, terminal server, serial-to-IP conversion, legacy-to-IP conversion and VPN functionalities. The EVDO capabilities of the BANDIT-II™ can be utilized in either the primary or failover network port. The seamless cellular failover feature is ideally suited for Disaster Recovery applications.

Designed for use in harsh environments such as those found in gas, oil and water/waste operations, power distribution substations, refineries, industrial plant floors, mobile transportation and traffic control applications, the BANDIT-II™ ensures secure, high throughput data networking connections directly to cellular, VSAT or terrestrial networks. The BANDIT-II™ supports private or public digital facilities, MPLS-based IP services and other broadband services including DSL, Cable Modem, Metro Ethernet and Fiber.
