Encore Networks and AIS Engineering Partner On Delivering Broadband IP+Legacy VPN Solutions To The Federal Government

Currently Being Deployed For The Department of Defense, AIS Engineering Bids Encore’s IP+Legacy BANDIT™ VPN Security Solutions To Various Federal and Defense Customers

Dulles, VA. October 22, 2003 – Encore Networks, a leading developer of integrated IP+Legacy Virtual Private Network (VPN) security solutions, today announced that it has signed a reseller agreement with AIS Engineering, Incorporated. AIS will sell, service and install Encore’s complete line of BANDIT™ IP + Legacy and VPN security platforms as well as Encore’s family of Broadband Network Access devices targeting Federal Government agencies.

AIS is a highly experienced, full service telecommunications and information technology company. Chartered in 1994 as a woman-owned business, AIS offers system design, strategic consulting, global satellite network development, training, and outsourcing to a broad range of Federal Agencies including the State Department, Department of Defense and the Pentagon.

“With homeland security issues at the forefront of all government network projects, our partnership with AIS gives the Encore Networks VPN security solutions immediate visibility in a number of pending government projects,” stated Bill Grant, Encore’s Vice-President of Broadband Access Solutions. “AIS, working with major Integrators like General Dynamics, has built a solid reputation as a premier government contractor.”

The BANDIT™ is a uniquely versatile IP+Legacy VPN gateway that provides IP routing, QoS, stateful inspection firewall, IPsec functionality, dial backup, and full range of legacy data protocol support, all in one small unit. Government agencies can quickly and easily migrate from legacy systems to standards-based IP networks. Positioned between the IP core network and the legacy end systems, the BANDIT™ provides the conduit for communication between the regional/branch offices and the main agency location over IP-based VPN’s.

“Many government network planners today are faced with the necessity of large-scale equipment upgrades to make networks compatible with next-generation IP services,” said Abe Sylla, Vice President and COO of AIS Engineering. “With Encore’s line of VPN security appliances, connecting legacy equipment to next-generation networks and services is inexpensive, immediate and simple to deploy.”
