Encore Networks Expands Signaling Gateway Product Line with the Introduction of SignalPath™ 201-Z

SP-201-Z™ Signaling Gateway Provides Seamless Interworking Capabilities Between Legacy and Next Generation Packet Voice Networks

Dulles, VA. June 10, 2003 – Encore Networks, a leading developer of signaling interworking solutions, today announced its newest Signaling Gateway product, the SignalPath™ 201-Z (SP201-Z). Designed as a cost-effective variant of Encore’s highly acclaimed SP-201 product line, the SP-201-Z is an advanced signaling gateway that facilitates out-of-band interoperability between incompatible voice networks, as well as providing interworking capabilities between legacy TDM voice networks and next generation VoIP networks. Available immediately with a list price of $8,200, the SP-201-Z is an extremely affordable solution for PTT’s, LD Carriers, VoIP ISPs, and Softswitch vendors who need to expand into new international markets and address their customers signaling interworking requirements.

Many types of out-of-band signaling protocols exist globally while many countries have different protocols simultaneously in use within its networks. The SP-201-Z, with its extensive list of seamless protocol support, breaks down the barriers presented by these different protocols and enables the flow of information across any network. The SP-201-Z, with its ANSI SS7, ITU C7, and ISDN support, gives both domestic and international carriers the ability to interwork with different voice switches, VoIP gateways, and softswitch platforms.

The SignalPathTM 201-Z features a compact 1U platform with a capacity of up to four E1 or T1 trunks and up to 120 DSOs per chassis. This provides a significant addition to the SignalPath signaling gateway product line that has been deployed by carriers and VoIP ISPs in over 80 countries worldwide.

“The SP201-Z is a further validation of Encore Networks' commitment to deliver signaling convergence solutions to carriers and PTTs worldwide,” stated Abir Hnidi, Chief Technology Officer of Encore Networks. “With its flexible architecture and rich feature-set, the SP201-Z provides a cost-effective alternative for carriers who plan to deploy next generation VoIP services, and at the same time interface with legacy TDM voice networks.”
