FOR THE VOICE FRAD F9301/Q301 SOFTWARE
UPGRADE
Prerequisites
A PC running communications
software at 9600 bps
The communication
port configured for 9600 bps, 8 data
bits, No parity, and 1 stop bit (9.6
k, 8,N,1)
Familiarity with the
XModem upload format
Connections
The first step in
upgrading software on the FRAD is to
connect the communications port of a
PC running terminal emulation software
to the FRAD's supervisory port. An RJ-45
cable and an RJ-45 to DB-9 adapter are
provided with each FRAD for this purpose.From
the command prompt, use the SHOW SOFT
command.

the SOFT LOCAL LOAD ENABLE command.
Xmodem Download
Mode
Press Return now to abort
the LOAD operation or unplug the screen and connect the
F1's management port to the host PC's serial port. Set
the PC's serial port to 9600 baud and commence xmodem binary
file transfer. There is a 4 minute timeout to commence
the LOAD operation.
NOTE: LBRV
software will not load
over the trunk to a
remote F1 node. After
the download is complete,
reconnect the management
screen and press CTRL_R to
refresh the display.

Using Hyperterminal for Windows, select Transfer.
Select the Send File option
from the pull-down menu. In the Send File window, navigate
to the F1.bin file you want to send to the voice FRAD,
and select Xmodem as the
transfer protocol. Double-click the Send button.
A file transfer status window will open to show the data
transfer progress. When the transfer is complete, this
window will close. Press Ctrl+R to refresh
the terminal display of the voice FRAD.
