Encore Networks Announces Hardened CBRS OnGo™ Network Solutions

Rick Wingrove News Release

CBRS Alliance Member, Encore Networks, will partner with key SAS and Infrastructure Providers Dedicated to OnGo services on the 3.5 GHz Citizens Broadband Radio Service Band

Chantilly, VA – September 24, 2019 – With the historic authorization by the FCC commercializing the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band, Encore Networks today announced their hardened, IIoT OnGo shared spectrum solutions supporting fixed wireless services.
“Our products support both the new 3.5 GHz LTE Band 48 as well as our traditional North America LTE carrier partner bands,” stated Peter Madsen, President of Encore Networks. “As a member of the CBRS Alliance, we have expanded our industrial platforms to deliver both CBRS and LTE solutions and services.”
The CBRS Alliance supports the common interests of members, implementers and operators for the development, commercialization, and adoption of LTE and 5G solutions for the US 3.5 GHz CBRS band. As a member, Encore will provide specific industry perspectives on applications and use cases for CBRS LTE solutions.
“Encore recognizes the importance of developing routers complying with OnGo commercial service specifications,” stated Alan Ewing, Executive Director of the CBRS Alliance. “Using CBRS and hardened solutions, such as those from Encore, will facilitate the rollout of these new services into industrial markets.”
Encore’s EN-2000™ and EN-4000™ product suites support industrial as well as commercial enterprise applications with flexibility to utilize CBRS and carrier 4G LTE services. Through FCC Part 15b and 96, Encore routers conform with OnGo specifications for Private LTE networks providing secure connectivity. From simple sensor and meters to complex utility SCADA networks, Encore provides resilient and robust communications.
Encore’s EN-4000™ series of routers support both traditional carrier provided 4G LTE and CBRS simultaneously. With this capability, customers can build networks starting with a commercial LTE offering and migrate to a CBRS network, or use both simultaneously with the ability to shift from one to another as required.
On September 10, CBRS pioneer Federated Wireless announced the industry-first 3.5 GHz CBRS Network and is clearly at the forefront of the shared spectrum market development. Paul Anuszkiewicz, Federated Wireless Vice President of Carrier Solutions said, “We are proud to have been one of the leaders in the incredible effort that has gone into making the commercial deployment of CBRS a reality and joining industry leaders like Encore Networks to promote 3.5 GHz network standards, drive LTE-based technology developments and promote business opportunities.”

About CBRS Alliance
The CBRS Alliance believes that LTE-based solutions in the CBRS band, utilizing shared spectrum, can enable both in-building and outdoor coverage and capacity expansion at massive scale. In order to maximize CBRS’ full potential, the CBRS Alliance aims to enable a robust ecosystem towards making LTE-based CBRS solutions available. The mission of the CBRS Alliance is to evangelize LTE-based CBRS technology, use cases and business opportunities while simultaneously driving technology developments necessary to fulfill the mission, including multi-operator LTE capabilities. The Alliance will also establish an effective product certification program for LTE equipment in the US 3.5 GHz band ensuring multi-vendor interoperability.
